Camping
Troop
Camping - Troop camping is done by Girl Scouts
that have had many outdoor activities, have learned and
practiced outdoor skills, and who are at ease with outdoor
cooking. When a troop goes camping, the leader or other
adult working with the troop must be a licensed troop
camper. An adult becomes certified by taking the Outdoor
Skills and/or Outdoor Living courses offered through
the Adult Development department. An adult who is currently
certified in first aid and CPR is required to accompany
a troop while camping.
Day Camping - Day camping
is available for girls of all ages where they camp within
a 7-hour period. Girls sign up as individual campers and
are placed in groups with staff assigned to carry out activities
during the camp day. Day camps are council sponsored.
Resident Camping - Girls camp
overnight or a period of several days at nearby Ohio Girl
Scout camps. Camp sessions vary in length and focus on
programs suited to the interests and experience of both
older and younger girls. Resident camp brochures are mailed
in the winter to every girl with detailed information about
the many Girl Scout camps and programs available throughout
Ohio.
